We will write a custom essay sample on Human Resource Letter or any similar topic only for you Order Now First and foremost, my name is blah blah and I was hired on December xx, 20xx as a supervisor at store # 1234. I am writing to express my disappointment with the company. I started with a high desire to work for a company that offered a high principle of ethics, honor, and respect for its employees. Now a little over two months later I am presenting my resignation. Unfortunately I was placed in a store that is very unorganized and not properly managed. Approximately three weeks after being hired I was given the responsibility of closing without the proper tools to do so. Yet, I ensured the daily tasks were completed to the best of my ability. Still, Mrs. xxx was rarely pleased with the outcome. On several occasions while she was instructing me of my duties she would use terms like â€Å"you better†, and also she would remind me that I was on a 90-day probation. I considered it unprofessional for her to use such phrases to intimidate me. I felt as if she was insinuating that she had control over me and she had the authority to fire me when she pleased. While giving orders her tone of voice was rarely polite. Mrs. Mejia has a recording of a discussion both her and I had, where she is giving me feedback and advise about my responsibilities, that day she was actually very courteous and polite. Though majority of the time while approaching her employees she tends to be very demanding. Most employees at this store would agree that they are unappreciated by her, and their accomplishments are almost never acknowledged. It is difficult to work with such an insatiable manager. Also, during the hiring process I was told that as a supervisor I was guaranteed 35 to 40 hours a week, the first two or three weeks there was no problem, however as I gained experience and more responsibility my hours were cut down to 25 hours a week. When I asked her if there was a reason why, she simply claimed that she has no payroll to ay for more hours. However certain non-management employees were give 40 hours or more. Constantly Mrs. Maria Mejia requests employees to come in on their days off or before their scheduled time due to her lack of organization and responsibility. On several occasions that included January 19, 2013 and January 29, 2013, I was asked to work without a lunch and I would be paid a lunch premium. To this date I have worked about 4 shifts without a lunch break and ha ve only been paid one lunch premium. I have been employed by Rite Aid for about over two months now and have not received my system log in, which causes me not being able to provide manager approvals and overrides for the employees. As a supervisor I am also aware that it is unlawful to have employees work of the clock, still Mrs. Mejia would ask me to have the employees work off the clock and she would fix their clock-in at a later time. Ms. Jxxxx Nxxxx and Mr. xxxx xxxxx have also witnessed the irresponsibility portrayed by the manager. On February 14, 2013 The aforementioned incidents have brought me mental anxiety, which has forced me to resign to my position. It is my opinion such behavior does not conform to Rite Aid policies of appropriate workplace behavior as set out in the company’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct. I feel violated by Mrs. Mejia’s behavior and believe that I have been mistreated. I am aware that lodging a complaint against Mrs. Maria Mejia will require a formal investigation and I am prepared to participate as needed. I appreciate your time and I apologize for the length of this letter, however I felt the need to express my uncomfortable experience. How to cite Human Resource Letter, Papers

Understanding the Business Environment Loyal Employees

Question: Discuss about theUnderstanding the Business Environmentfor Loyal Employees. Answer: Introduction One of the key trends witnessed in the 21st century is due to collapse of corporate ladder where loyal employees climbed towards the higher echelons of management through one point at a time. Over the past 10 year there has been a change in the working pattern. There are number of changes in the work environment worldwide. The great recession has changed everything in the world and has put a change in the entire work culture. The changes in the business environment over the past 10 years have affected the entire way of doing work. The new form of work culture affects both man and woman. It is affecting those people as well who have just graduated from the college and looking for a job (Heerwagen, 2016). The recent change in the work pattern is related to the tenure of employment position and how dramatically it has changed. The current life span of a job has reduced in the recent time. Uncertainty is the major reason behind the reducing life span of a job. Technology is developing at a fast pace and there is a continuous shifting of pressure. Consumer taste has changed and the economic environment across the world is unstable. No employer has a capacity to predict the change in coming six months. Change in Jobs Over the Period of 10 Years The global economy producing new job has become completely unpredictable. As technology has progressed the office culture and communication mechanism has drastically changed (Fox and O'Conno, 2015). With the constant ability of an individual it has become difficult to unplug and return o the daily life. The employees from the different background and culture are posing a problem in managing critical issues that has addressed issues while managing smooth flow. One of the significant changes seen it the work culture is due to the influx of generation Y employees in the work environment (Sellers, 2013). Baby Boomers are the one born in between 1946 and 1964 and have a serious attitude towards work. They have an ability to work for a higher position at work. They are likely to be inclined towards the job security, senior position and plan for future. The millennial on the other hand are one born between 1977 and 2002. They are likely to have more energy and value education and experience . They have a casual attitude towards the work and believe in harnessing relationship at work. They are more likely to enjoy freedom and focus on balancing personal and professional life (Fox and O'Conno2015). The economy has struggled during the past few years and many companies had to cut back in a certain manner to save money and to stay positive. One of the effective ways chosen by the business organization in the recent time is to reduce budget on the corporate provided devices. The policy is referred to bring your own device. This is one of the popular approaches used by the companies. This way they can reduce the amount of expense made on each employee (Bludman, 2014.). They simply pay the employee for the amount of total bill that is related to the business. This creates a huge concern related to privacy and security at workplace. For the purpose majority of companies are using password protection and encryption to reduce the amount of risk. They are using smart software that is helping in synching the entire work in order to attain efficacy (50 ways life has changed in the last 10 years.2009). Another major change seen in the past 10 years is regarding the development of outsourcing business. This business is often less expensive and employees workers at a very low salary. According to a business report there is a 30-70 percent decrease in spending on employees salary due to this practice. Technology has carted as a safeguard to develop outsourcing as a viable approach in order to connect to remote workers (Schalock, et al 2014). Many companies are also using Skype and Google hangout strategies in order to keep in touch with the employees. Apart from this there is a shift from usage of commercial enterprise software to mobile drive software. The evolving mobile market has helped in adopting significant changes. This has helped companies to adopt modern technology instead of traditional approach. The companies can now keep in touch with the vendors through mobile devices (9 ways the workplace will look different in 2050.2016). Another change is regarding abandonment of the traditional work culture. Todays work culture is combination of expensive rent costs and building maintenance fees along with a decrease in face to face contact. The employees are given an opportunity to work from home (Wetherly and Otter, 2014). They are provided with flexible working hours and a better balance of personal and professional life. Employees considered the tradition al work culture as a barrier to grow. The generation Y is more interested to work in a flexible working option. There is an increase in businesses that are doing online sale for which an employee is getting flexible working hours. The concept of physical existence of office has become obsolete. It is difficult for an individual to predict the future but it will be exciting enough to imbibe the new working pattern (Botha, Kourie and Snyman, 2014). With an increase in the workforce diversity there is an increase in the harassment law and legal actions. Even the small business has created grievances department to address the issues related to harassment. Larger companies have developed an effective work culture and are more considerate about equal rights (Wild, Wild and Han, 2014). The cultural diversity is increasing in the business environment and it has become important from the perspective of the global business to give a proper attention to every individual in a business organization. Cultural diversity in the recent time has become an important component. The beginning of the women movement in 1970 has caused a shift in workplace demography (Budhwar and Debrah, 2013). Womens, minorities and handicapped person are now more likely to share the workplace at all the level. It is interesting to understand that both management and subordinates are now considering the preference and beliefs. The older workers are more likely to s tay with the organization and they value loyalty whereas the new workers are more likely to seek freedom and growth (Cavusgil et al 2014; Decker, Haltiwanger, Jarmin and Miranda, 2016.). Changes Expected in the Next 10 Years Over the past 10 years there has been a significant change in the work culture. Changes are inevitable in nature and the world will see new changes in the work culture in the coming years. The use of social media will increase with the advancement in technology. The social networking website will become an important medium to discuss job profile. In the coming years job hopping will emerge as a new trend. Todays generation is finding difficulty in committing their career to one company. The entire dress code at workplace will see a drastic change in coming years(Langley, Smallman, Tsoukas and Van de Ven,2013). It is expected that in coming years almost half of the workforce will switch over to artificial intelligence, it is expected that the transportation and logistics industry will probably see an upheaval in coming years. The artificial intelligence will take over the business in order to do business effectively. There will be development of efficient technology in order to manage both artificial intelligence and human (Boons and Ldeke-Freund, 2013). Global Expansion Global expansion will become cheap n coming years and employers will research for new opportunities across world. In the coming competitive scenario the western companies are turning to Asian countries for availability of cheap employees and efficient skills. There will be creation of more jobs in coming future and new pattern of work will increase in the coming years (Jussila, Krkkinen and Aramo-Immonen, 2014). Freelancing Freelancing will become a new trend to pursue business. It is evident that in coming year there will be a significant transformation in business opportunities (Benn, Dunphy and Griffiths, 2014). Companies in the coming years need to prove its worth to the employees in order to attract the best one for the organization. Social Responsibility Social responsibility in coming years will attain a broad perspective. This will however help the business in gaining effective perspective globally. It is necessary that the global enterprise has developed itself in the effective organization. This will help the new business organizations to attain higher degree of efficacy. In order to retain the old employees and to attract the new one social responsibility will develop as an effective tool (Cummings, Bridgman and Brown, 2016.). With the constant ability of an individual it will become effective for a business organization to utilize the resources in an effective manner that will help in understanding the future issues. In such a scenario it has become evident that the business needs to adopt effective business culture so that the future requirements can be attained effectively (Melnyk et al, 2014). In a competitive business scenario it is necessary for a business to adopt effective business strategies in order to attain higher us efulness. Thomas Friedman Theory of Flat World Thomas Friedman has described todays world as flat because all the competitors are equally proficient. In todays competitive world it is witnessed that there is a perceptual shift in work practice. In his theory he has stated the importance of free trade and flat world (Kuipers, et al 2014). The purpose of existing and upcoming business scenario is to attain efficiency by adopting different work environment. The world is subject to change and every company should be ready to adopt changes occurring in the environment. This is evident that the business can only grow if they adopt the different strategies as per the business environment. It is necessary for a business organization to validate the changes in an effective manner. This will help the business in accepting the changes that are occurring in the world (Cullen, Edwards, Casper and Gue, 2014. It is necessary to adopt the changes and every business can grow efficiently only after implying changes in the routine. The concept of flat world is necessary in adopting the changes and to achieve effective growth as per competitive environment. In the context of todays competitive business environment it has become evident that the work environment is changing and it is important for the business organization to adopt the c hanges in an effective manner. Changes with Examples Increasing Role of Females There are multiple changes seen in todays work culture. One of the major changes is in the form of demographic changes where most of the eminent business position in the world is taken over by female candidates. PepsiCo CEO Indira Nooyi, IBM first female CEO Ginny Rommetry, Irrene Rosenfeld of Kraft, Ursula Burns of Xerox. They have changed the complete Scenario of doing business in current work culture. This has effectively helped in changing the complete procedure of doing business (9 ways the workplace will look different in 2050.2016). Innovation and Technology Another change is seen in the field of technology and innovation. Majority of companies have adopted the high end technology in order to attain high capacity. The Multinational companies have imbibed distinguished culture in working procedure. The advancement of technology is seen as an important change in the recent time. Majority of work in an organization are now technology driven, big organizations are now focusing on effective technology in order to attain high capacity. Technology has become most of the efficient driver that has helped the organization in order to attain results. Every business enterprise whether new or old needs to comply with the effective technology in order to attain results (Ferraro and Brody, 2015). Conclusion To conclude it is evident to understand that change is essential for todays business environment. N recent 10 years the world has seen many changes I the working culture. It is evident that the changes need to imply effectively and most importantly changes need to be effectively proceeding. The global economy producing new job has become completely unpredictable. As technology has progressed the office culture and communication mechanism has drastically changed. In such a scenario it is important for a business organization to comply with the changes and to adopt the changes. In the coming 10 years the whole world will see new changes and it will create an effective working environment. As per the famous theory of Author Friedman the whole world is flat and it is important for every business organization to adopt changes in order to grow.
